Welcome to Drive More Safely, where Road Safety is our focus!

Death on the road does not only affect the economy, it has a devastating effect on the family of a road crash victim. It has a lifelong hurt and emptiness that never leaves the family.

Road safety is NOT the responsibility of government. It is YOUR responsibility.

It is you

  • that is behind the controls of your vehicle:
  • that makes the choice of whether to use your cellphone whilst driving,
  • that makes the choice to speed or overtake on a solid line; and
  • the most dangerous is, it is you that took the  “one for the road” and killed someone.

Harsh you say………yes it is harsh, because every day a family is left with a permanent reminder of a crash that changed their lives forever.

Drive More Safely can train road users,; we can educate road users; but unfortunately we cannot change their attitude – this is the reason for the devastation on our roads.

Our pledge is to:

  • Educate
  • Empower
  • Train road users.

Objectives

  • To provide road safety education and training through programs, campaigns, training sessions and literature
  • To collaborate with other organisations that mainly deal with road safety and education
  • To engage with government
  • To advocate, on a responsible basis, for better road safety measures
  • To be active and responsible road safety activists for better roads for all

Drive More Safely is a registered NPO where your safety on the road matters the most.

MORE ABOUT US

We proudly support Project EDWARD (Every day without a road death)

2024 marked a milestone in Alida’s work, with the launch of Project EDWARD (Every Day Without A Road Death) in South Africa. Originating in the UK, this campaign was introduced locally under Alida’s leadership, in collaboration with the Road Traffic Management Corporation (RTMC) and the Department of Transport. The campaign, themed “Every Day Without A Road Death,” was inaugurated by Minister Barbara Creecy and gained national recognition as the flagship 2024 Festive Season Road Safety Campaign.

Between 2013 and 2023, South Africa lost an astonishing 17517 lives during the festive seasons!

Find out more about this Project that is aimed at reducing deaths on our roads!

Please join us this year with Project EDWARD (Every day without a road death) when we tackle this horrible picture with new energy, new ideas and most of all a will to make a difference.
