Road Safety Training by Drive More Safely

Drive More Safely is a non-profit organization in South Africa dedicated to promoting safer roads through education, campaigns, and responsible activism. Led by Alida Venter, we aim to equip road users with the skills and knowledge they need to become safe, responsible drivers and pedestrians. Our vision is simple yet profound: “Promoting road safety towards safer roads for all citizens of South Africa through education, campaigns, and responsible activism.”

Defensive Driving for Truck Drivers

Our 3-day Defensive Driving Course empowers truck drivers with the skills to handle any road scenario safely and effectively.

Topics Covered:

Overview of South Africa’s road traffic statistics
Crash footage analysis and lessons learned
Defensive driving techniques
Hazard perception training and testing
Truck compliance requirements
Basic first aid skills

Course Details:

Duration: 3 days (9:00 AM – 3:00 PM daily)
Cost: R4500 per person (includes tea/coffee and a light lunch)
Certification: Participants receive a certificate of completion at the end of the course.

Danny Cat Road Safety & Pedestrian Training for Children

Children love learning about road safety with Danny Cat, our engaging mascot! Through fun, interactive sessions, we teach young learners how to stay safe as pedestrians. This program also includes scholar patrol training to encourage lifelong safety habits.

What’s Included:

Custom entertainment interventions designed for specific age groups
Practical safety tips presented in an enjoyable format
Certificate for each learner after completion

Costs:

R50 per learner
R500 for Danny Cat
R1000 for travel expenses (if applicable)

Hazard Perception Training

This interactive PC-based training helps drivers anticipate and respond effectively to potential hazards on the road. Hazard Perception Training is a critical skill for all drivers, forming a mandatory part of driver training in the UK.
